Faith is intended to give us the wisdom and power to walk through life's hardest times, not just to get rid of those times. Hard times are the canvas upon which God paints a life purpose of victory.God's purpose for life's trials can bring us into our finest hour. But we need to learn to let Him make us before He will send us. The trial is never about the trial. By faith we learn to find something worth dying for, and then we will have found something worth living for.

One of the world's biggest problems is that they don't know how to answer the question that this title presents. We hear people demanding or fighting for their rights, while others are afraid of losing their rights. It would seem that people have yet to define what their greatest need is - knowing their right to believe God in the face of all that's wrong with them!

Preparation for war for me began in basic training in 1971. Jesus' last words in the Book of Revelation gives us glimpse of how He wants to prepare us for today's pressure to turn America into a socialist state. Both have the goal of us being given what we don't all deserve. One works, and one doesn't.

Life Journeys isn't just about what we believe about the Bible. It is about real life and how the Bible relates to our past so we can apply it in the present. I have been personally encouraged through a recent death of a young woman to recall Jacob's many family struggles. Yet while they wrestled, Jacob was giving birth to 12 sons who would be seen around the throne of God at the end of it all. We need to interpret our present by God's promises for our future.

Murder Hornets was a name given to some giant bees that were said to a potential danger earlier in the year. Jokes were often made about them. But when my grand daughter was stung twice by local wasps, it was no joke. After a high speed run to the hospital under police escort, she spent the next 6 hours in the emergency room. Today's message equates one of John's visions in Revelation 12 with heaven's side of earth's battles.

When my friend was crawling a full mile out of the woods with a heart attack, God was there. He drove himself an hour to his home, showered, and went to the ER. He'd been a tank commander, a police officer, a miner, an outdoorsman, and he was born again. God was with him from beginning to end.

When God seems silent, sometimes it's because He has already prepared us and He's standing by as we take our first 'solo flight' through a storm. It's not really a solo though, because like Peter walking on the water, Jesus is right there to extend a needed hand. That's what it felt like for this young family when their mother left too soon.

"The end of all things is near." My friend didn't realize it when he read those words in the Bible that morning that God was talking about him! After recovering from a heart attack, he went to preach on this Easter Sunday morning. By evening, he was in heaven. Sometimes, in our moments of greatest sorrow, we slip badly in our faith. But instead of leaving us to ourselves, God comes and shows us His greatness.
